twenty things I've learned in twenty years.

when I say "learned", it doesn't mean I'm still not learning these (and new things) everyday and struggling to remember to live by what I've learned.

01. your mom is always, always right. (and your dad can be too ;)
02. stand up for yourself always. never let anyone control who you are. & you're in charge of your own happiness. choose to be happy.
03. hard work is always rewarding.
04. spending your time doing things that make you happy is the best thing you can do for yourself.
05. staying positive is always best. rid yourself of all negativity.
06. sometimes you just need pancakes for dinner. or any breakfast food. (best advice I ever got)
07. if you want to do it, do it. (and don't wait)
08. life is just better on vacation.
09. make sure to always carry extra deodorant in your car.
10. there's nothing wrong with liking the music (and everything else) you like.
11. being barefoot makes you feel free. and just over all better.
12. it's not bad waking up early. ever.
13. save, save, save your money.
14. it's okay to have alone time.
15. never hide from anything.
16. hand made things are the best things.
17. time is a precious. don't ever waste it.
18. don't take life too seriously. worrying is never gets you anywhere.
19. you can never have enough white cheddar popcorn. or peppermint patties.
20. learn how to cook. and bake. oh and always make your bed.

(oh, & I do know that I'm 21, I just haven't been for a full year yet.)

spring.

lately I've felt so busy, everyday I have something to do, somewhere to be. I actually love when life is like this (for the most part) so I'm not complaining. the weather has been pretty lovely lately, warm and spring like. the other day we had a (short) huge downpour and it was wonderful. after it was done I went outside (barefoot & in pajamas) and took pictures of some flowers. growing up I never really liked the spring time, but as I get older I've grown to appreciate it, and it's beauty. I'm so happy I love where things bloom and brighten up the earth, (even if that means allergies).

sunday drives.

drives by myself are my favorite. the radio up and the windows down. or the radio off and my mind wandering. it's peaceful. it's my own time. I think. I figure life out (or at least I try to). I inspire myself. Sunday's are the best day for these drives, I prepare myself for the week, for Monday. I think everyone needs these times, even if it's only a fifteen minute moment. it can do wonders.

getting things done.

i've felt like my days have been flying but yet also dragging on. my brain feels like it's moving so fast that i can't even think straight, my weekends fly by, and i'm always tired. i guess this is what growing up is. gross i know. i just haven't gotten the hang of it yet, that must be why adults drink coffee. today while nannying the kids both fell asleep at the same time (which never happens) and instead of reading, writing, or doing anything I bring to do in case this once in a while miricale happens, I turned on the tv and scrolled through pinterst. because i honestly feel like i don't have the energy to do anything else. wrong. i have the energy i just chose not to use it for the right things, because it's easier not to. when i look at the wife and mother and just person i hope to be in the future, it's someone who works hard, gets things done and feels accomplished at the end of the day. lately i haven't been being this person and I've blamed it on everything but myself. one of my new years resolutions was to be more accomplished & less lazy and i realized today that I haven't been doing a very good job of keeping up with that. but that's going to change. the nice part about having your birthday so close to the new year is that if you fail a little on your resolutions you can extend it to then. so i've got nine days.
