when I was little I used to lay on our trampoline, stare up at our "big tree" and dream about my future. although some of my dreams and hopes for the future have become a little more realistic as I've gotten older, those day dreams my seven year old self had are still the same things floating in my head as a twenty one year old. one of my favorite things to picture was my future home, an old farm house with squeaky floor boards, a front porch with mine and my husbands (& our children's) muddy boots by the screen door, a big yard where I can plant a big garden, a pretty hand built barn with an american flag on the side of it, horses and maybe some chickens roaming around, and a tractor sitting somewhere in the front yard. inside there would be big windows all around, my kids drawings framed on the walls, a cozy fire place to sit by in the winter, and a large kitchen where my family will always love to spend there time laughing, dancing barefoot, and making breakfast for dinner. daily I sit and think of these things, I've dreamt about them so much it almost feels real. I can't wait to one day make this become a reality and find someone who will live out all my dreams with me (and add theirs to the mix). last week I was house sitting for some family friends who have horses, I sat with them for a few hours longing for a ranch of my own, days like that are when I'm at my happiest. I'm excited to work hard to have the life I've always imagined.

up in the air.
there's something about being up there among the clouds, the view is always unreal and I feel so special to be able to witness the clouds from such a (up close and) personal level. when you're stuck on a plane for five hours there's not a lot you can do, so my time up there consisted of listening to music and lots of thinking. things have changed in my life lately, but I'm using those changes to push me forward and do things that make me happy. to grow (up) and to change myself in ways that I need to. I'm excited for this journey, I've been enjoying it so far. Everything about the future still might be up in the air, but I can't wait to see what else is in store and share it all with you along the way. I'm really proud of where I'm going, and I'm so thankful for every experience in my life that brought me here to where I am today.

planned.
all my life I've been a planner, but at the same time I'm the most indecisive person on the planet. how can someone plan their lives and be unsure of what they want? beats me. but regardless, I've been a planner. I realized recently that no matter how much you plan or have an idea of how things are gonna turn out, God has a funny way of letting you know he has a different plan for your life. as much as I wish the "different plan" came with step by step instructions, it doesn't, but (at least for me) it comes along with some reassurance that this is the path you need to be on.. even if you feel even more confused as before. am I making sense? probably not. anyway, a lot of changes have happened in my life in the last week, changes I didn't think were ever going to happen. as much as I don't like change, instead of consuming all my time wondering why, I'm choosing to sit back and see where this "new plan" is going to take me. happy to have you along for the ride.
