little ones.

not my little ones, but sometimes it can seem that way. these sweet boys have been in my life for two years now, it's crazy to think of everything I've been through with them. being a part of their learning and growing has been such an honor to me. I may not be their mom but the connection I have with them can come pretty close, having them around makes my life just a little bit better. 

summer fun for two year olds.

i'm a nanny to two, two year old boys. i'm so happy that the weather is warming up and we can do more things outside. i figured even though i'm not a mom myself, i can still share some ideas.

my favorite is a water table. this age is so fun to play in the water with, just prepare for some soaked clothes. it's definitely a good activity for super warm days. 

walks |01

when I take the boys I nanny on a walk they are so quiet. they look around, smile, point, wave, but they're silent. they're looking at what may be an ordinary every day walk/drive to some people, but with eyes that are growing and learning. that are curious. they always want to collect rocks or sticks or silly objects that to them are treasures, but to me, I always make them throw them down before we go inside. yesterday I took them on a walk and looked at things from their point of view. I was quiet, I collected, I took it all in. I thought, I imagined, I took a breath. so many people live their lives passing things by, missing out, looking at things with the wrong attitude and perspective. I don't want to be like that, I don't want to miss out. there's so much of the world out there. I want to see it all, collect, find, experience, breathe, learn, grow. I think that's what life is all about.

 01| i'm a preschool teacher and a nanny. this was my last day of work before christmas break and it was an oh so lovely day for a walk.
02| outside was so quiet. you can't tell but it was starting to snow.
03| oh the weather outside is frightful.
04| last minute christmas shopping.
05| so that means last minute wrapping.
06| and more wrapping.
07| christmas candy.
08| making cookies for santa.
09| but the fire is so delightful. snuggling up on christmas eve.
10| i got a cook book for christmas so naturally i made pancakes for breakfast the next day.
